Yes. Placement is voluntary. Parents sign a placement agreement that gives Hope Children's Home the permission it needs to properly care for their child. Mom and Dad always remain Mom and Dad, and Hope Children's Home cannot remove your rights as a parent.
The full cost of room, board, and tuition is $1,754 per month. Thanks to generous donors, families pay based on what they can afford. For some families that may be full tuition, for others it may be $25 a month, and some families receive care at no cost.
Our mission is about helping families in need. Please never let finances keep you from reaching out.
No, we are not able to accept insurance for services provided.
We care for children ages 0 to 17. The youngest child we have welcomed was just 13 days old. If you are pregnant or caring for a baby two or under, Bundles of Hope may also be a good fit for you.
Absolutely. Keeping siblings together is one of the things we are most thankful to be able to do. We have welcomed families of 2, 3, 4, and all the way up to 8 children. Because of our cottage design, siblings are usually in the same cottage. If not, they live as next-door neighbors until they can be placed together.
Children live in family-style cottages on our 55-acre home in Tampa. Each 4,000-square-foot cottage has beds for up to 12 children and its own recreation area. Some have pool and shuffleboard tables, others have gaming areas, and one even has a movie theater.
Yes. Because our ultimate goal is to reunite families, visits are an important part of the program. A visiting and phone call schedule is discussed with every parent at the time of placement.
At placement, we sign a one-year agreement. In our experience, this is about how long it takes for a family to be in a position to bring their children back home. If needed, children can stay longer while a situation is being resolved.
Children attend Hope Christian School, our own private school located right here on our 55 acres. The school is fully accredited and recognized by the State of Florida. Grade levels completed and high school credits earned transfer to any school, and diplomas are nationally recognized.
Hope Children's Home receives its authority to operate under Florida Statute 409.176. We are a registered agency through the Florida Association of Christian Child Caring Agencies, which is fully recognized by the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF).
Hope Children's Home is a family-style home, not a lock-down facility. Because of the specialized care they need, we are not able to accept children or teens who:
- Are addicted to drugs or alcohol
- Have sexually abused others
- Have been diagnosed with severe psychotic disorders
- Are violent or have a criminal record of violence
