Summer Wrap-Up in Honduras!
A summer marked by growth, connection, and lasting impact.
This has been one of the most enjoyable summers we’ve ever had!
We focused on areas where the children could grow and were intentional with how we used our free days.
With 25 children in the home, it’s easy for some to fly under the radar.
To be intentional, we divided them among our seven staff members, each making a point to encourage and connect with their group.
Whether through one-on-one devotions, reading together, coffee outings, or daily check-ins, our priority was to help each child feel seen, valued, and supported.
As a result, the children have grown in every way—and we’ve grown closer as a family in some really wonderful ways.
Our interns worked with children who struggle more in school, providing one-on-one tutoring.
We also launched a summer reading program with prizes for the number of books read.
The a for reading has already translated into academic improvements that will help them excel this year.
A few children with musical talents offered to teach others who
were interested.
Now we have students learning the piano, guitar, and drums—it will be exciting to see how God uses these gifts in the future!
This summer included special events such as Teen Conference and Vacation Bible School.
A visiting teen group from West Florida Baptist Church organized the VBS for our children, and they had a blast!
Through these activities, the children were challenged to seek the Lord daily and made friendships and memories that will last a lifetime.
We’re so thankful to WFBC for their investment in the lives of our
young people.
The summer flew by, and now our children are back in school.
Our backpack campaign, with an Amazon wishlist, was fully funded in just 24 hours—thank you to everyone who purchased a backpack or pencil pouch!
We are grateful to have quality bags to carry heavy books, saving us from replacing them multiple times during the school year.
Please pray for our 22 students as they begin classes, applying what they learned over the summer in both their studies and friendships.
We were blessed to have three amazing teen girls serve as interns this summer—Haylee, Mykenzie, and Natalia.
They helped with tutoring, music lessons, deep cleaning the Braun Cottage, daily activities, and so much more.
Their love and dedication touched the children in countless ways.
Please keep them in prayer: Haylee and Natalia as they begin their senior year of high school, and Mykenzie as she
steps into the next stage of life
after graduation.
Not long ago, we shared a major
need—air conditioning for the
children’s bedrooms.
After years of sleeping in hot rooms, the infrastructure in Honduras finally made it possible, and in just one week the full amount was raised!
Thank you to everyone who gave, prayed, and shared so this need could be met so quickly.
Now the children can rest comfortably in their beds instead of on the tile floor to keep cool.
We’re eager to see how this impacts their focus and learning in school.
