Miriam's Story

How Miriam's time at Hope Children’s Home prepared her for motherhood.

Miriam came to Hope at age 10 when her mom could not take care of her and her four siblings.  Not only did she find a safe and loving home where she could laugh and play and grow as children are meant to do…

But Miriam also learned valuable lessons that she’s carried into adulthood.

She shares…

“The skills that we were taught—hard work and determination, and strength through adversity—have followed through in parenting as well.  I’m teaching those same values to my children.”

Your support will equip children like Miriam with biblical truth and lessons they’ll hold onto forever.

As Proverbs 22:6 says, Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

Miriam explains how these lessons help her parent her five children…

“I learned that the Bible tells us to do things with all our might.  Now I’m teaching that to my children.  As a mom, I know God calls me to do my best and pass that lesson down to my children.”

Best of all, Miriam’s desire to raise up her children in God’s love and truth comes from her relationship with Christ, which she also found at Hope…

I was taught about relationship over and over.  I was taught about having a relationship with Christ.  And now even in parenting, I can have a relationship with my children, and that’s been huge.”

Miriam learned about the most important relationship she can have—one with her Savior, Jesus!  It was only possible thanks to friends like you.

So please consider partnering with us to give precious boys and girls a home where they encounter godly love and lessons they’ll carry with them for the rest of their life.  We’re deeply grateful for you!

I want to help more children like Miriam
