Jose and Oscar’s Story
Jose and Oscar were just eight weeks old, tiny and fragile, their future far from certain.
Fourteen years ago today, two baby boys arrived at Hope Children's Home in Honduras. Their mom was desperately poor, and the reality was stark. Without intervention, both boys might not have survived.
That was September 1, 2012.
First day at Hope
Today
Today, Jose and Oscar are 14-year-old young men full of faith and purpose. What has happened in their lives is the kind of fruit that only grows over years of love and steady commitment from friends like you.
Rachelle, their house mom, has watched them grow up over the years, both physically and mentally. As the boys have matured, they've taken on a new role at Hope.
Growing Into Who God Made Them To Be
Both boys gave their lives to Christ in 2023 after devotions in their cottage and were baptized in March 2024.
"The most impactful thing has been getting saved and baptized and growing in God," Oscar shared. Jose's gratitude reaches forward into the future too: "I'm thankful for the opportunity to study and graduate so I can do something special with my life."
A Story Fourteen Years In The Making
Jose and Oscar's story is living proof of what happens when faithful friends invest in a child's life, not just for a moment, but for years. Because of that kind of compassion and partnership, these brothers are becoming the young men God created them to be.
Another child is just beginning a story like theirs.
A gift today gives that child the same thing Jose and Oscar had all along: a safe home, a family who won't give up, and years of steady love to grow up in.
