How Cali Found True Joy in Jesus

When eight-year-old Cali arrived at Hope Children’s Home, years of hardship and mistreatment had shaped how she saw the world.

Cali had learned to protect her heart and focus on survival. Trust did not come easily.

But God was already at work.

As Cali settled into life at Hope, she began hearing about Jesus. She noticed something different in the other children around her. It was a lasting joy that did not disappear when things were hard. That joy stayed with her, and she wanted it for herself.

When salvation was explained, Cali listened intently. She asked questions. She thought deeply. In time, she expressed a clear desire to be saved.

With the guidance of her cottage parents, Cali began to understand sin, grace, and her need for a Savior.

In March of 2025, she placed her trust in Jesus. Her transformation was evident almost immediately.

Her heart softened. Fear gave way to peace. Her faith began to grow.

Each night, Cali now prays with gratitude and lifts others up by name. She talks openly about Jesus and what He means to her. The guarded child who once focused only on survival is now learning to live with hope.

In October 2025, Cali took the next step in her faith journey and was baptized, publicly declaring the faith God had already planted in her heart.

Cali’s story is a powerful reminder that through faithful care, consistent love, and the truth of the Gospel, lives are transformed. Because of generous supporters and faithful prayer partners, children at Hope are given more than safety.

They are given the opportunity to encounter Jesus and experience the unshakable joy of life in Him.
