Emily
Emily thought she was stupid, but the Christian education she received at Hope changed everything for her.
Emily arrived at Hope in 2023 over halfway through her fourth-grade year.
As she settled into Hope Christian School at our Florida campus, it quickly became clear that Emily was struggling academically.
With interrupted schooling and chaotic home lives, it’s no surprise that this is true for most of the children when they arrive at Hope.
Emily finished the year testing well below average for her age group.
Can you imagine how Emily felt? How discouraged, frustrated, even ashamed?
“She told people she was stupid, almost as if it didn’t matter to her, but it was obvious it did,” says Ashley, who’s the School Administrator at Hope Christian School.
“After the summer, she came back to school with a complete lack of confidence. She considered herself a stupid girl, which was anything but true.”
Emily had come to believe a lie – a view of herself that her Father in heaven didn’t share.
But thanks to friends like you, this lie began to unravel with each passing week of the new school semester.
Through Hope Christian School’s quality, Bible-based curriculum, small class sizes, and dedicated staff, Emily began to make real progress.
Ashley continues…
“With her teacher and houseparent working diligently together to help get Emily back on grade level, we began to slowly see an improvement in Emily’s grades.
We were overjoyed when she was placed on the A/B honor roll for the first time by the end of the third quarter – exactly one year after she came to Hope!
“She ended up with an 89% in language and 80% in math. It’s crazy what a difference one year made for Emily.
We are very proud of all the hard work she put in and were especially excited to see the change in her confidence!”
Emily added…
“Now I understand what I’m being taught. My teachers and houseparents helped me study and explained things I had trouble understanding.
My grades are a lot better. Now I like school!”

The transformation in Emily’s life fills us with joy – and I’m sure you feel the same!
Her entire future has shifted because friends like you made it possible to nurture, teach, and encourage her so she could learn to believe again, in herself, in her potential, and in the unending love of God!
Now as a new school year kicks off, Emily no longer faces it with dread but with a sense of excitement at all the opportunities that lie ahead for her!
This is the impact you will make in a young life through your Back to School gift below.
So please respond generously, knowing you’re building a strong foundation for a hope-filled future for the boys and girls at Hope.
It costs $4,670 per child for each academic year. This covers curriculum, field trips, music and arts, sports programs, as well as practical needs like uniforms and supplies.
That’s everything…at a significantly less cost than comparable private educations.
This means a gift of $100 today will support one child’s education for a week. And your generous $400 gift will fully equip one child for a month of schooling.
One of the most impactful ways, though, you can support the children through the Back to School campaign is with a regular monthly gift.
This ongoing support helps ensure that each child’s needs can be met all the way through the academic year. So let me encourage you to consider a regular gift today.
But if you’re not in a position to commit to regular support, then please know that your one-time gift is so appreciated because it’s a powerful investment in the long-term futures of children like Emily.
Whatever you’re able to give, you can be certain that you will help more children to flourish, grow in their confidence, and build towards the hope-filled futures they deserve.
On their behalf, thank you for your support.
