Casidee

When her mother ended up in rehab, Casidee thought it was going to be the worst year ever...
“When I came to Hope on January 2, 2023, I thought I was going to have the worst year ever. I don’t think I could’ve been more wrong because, little did I know, this year is going to be the best one so far.”
That’s what 12-year-old Casidee said about moving to Hope Children’s Home New Mexico.
And though there are many things she loves about her “wonderful life at Hope” (her words), the best thing was meeting Jesus.
“I never really thought of being a Christian in my older childhood years because when I was six, we moved. Five years later, we moved again, and my mom started going downhill.
“After half a year of alcohol abuse, she ended up in rehab and placed me in Hope after much research on homes.”
When Casidee first got to Hope, church felt weird. But then Dixie, another girl living at Hope, challenged her to question her current beliefs.
And Casidee’s house parent, Amanda, explained what being a Christian is really about. She said Jesus is what Casidee really needed.
Soon, Casidee realized Dixie and Amanda were right—Jesus is what she needed.

Church services went from being something she dreaded to something she looked forward to. And during one Wednesday night service, Casidee asked Jesus to be her Lord and Savior!
Today she shares,
“I know my being here at Hope was no accident. God always has a plan. This was His plan for me.”
Casidee’s favorite verse today is Psalm 37:39: “But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: He is their strength in the time of trouble.”
It’s thanks to friends like you that Casidee and so many other children not only find the home they need at Hope, but also the hope of their eternal home through Jesus. Thank you.
