A House Mom’s Answered Prayer

Amy shares…

“The Lord never ceases to amaze us on how faithful He is. Our cottage has primarily been made up of teen boys with our youngest being 5.

“When you pray and ask the Lord to send the ones who truly need a loving home and safe place to grow, don’t think He won’t answer!

“The Lord not only sent two new boys to our cottage, but also three toddlers. Yes, toddlers! A sweet set of 18-month-old twins and their adorable three-year-old sister.

“Our home had nothing—and we do mean nothing—in the way of toddler supplies, and definitely nothing girly. 

“We put out a needs list to our friends and supporters. Within hours our needs were starting to get met with the Lord using those people to meet those needs. We needed three of almost everything, from high chairs to car seats. 

“Every need and then some was met!”

“While God already knows all of our needs, He is waiting for us to call out to Him for them. This is why we put things on our prayer boards and we pray about them and for them.

“Prayer is such a huge part of ministry. It’s not just for the older kids or the adults. It is something that we teach to all that come in.

“Those three sweet little ones already have started to develop a routine prayer life. It’s so sweet to hear our little three-year-old pray.

“Our desire is to help those in need while their families get back on their feet. A children’s home is not a children’s home without children!”
